About Our Instructors:

 

Susan Ruptash - B.Arch., OAA, FRAIC, AIA

Principal and Accessibility Specialist, Quadrangle Architects Limited

Susan has 22 years of experience in specialized consulting and project management in the areas of barrier-free and universal design. Susan sat on the Accessibility Directorate of Ontario Accessible Built Environment Standards Development Committee which developed the detailed standards in response to the AODA. Susan has previously authored Barrier-Free Guidelines in response to the Ontarians with Disabilities Act (ODA). She has been a member of the Ontario Building Code Technical Advisory Committee responsible for reviewing changes to the barrier-free sections of the Code.



Susie Levitsky - B.Sc. O.T., Reg. (Ont.), Occupational Therapist

With over 25 years of experience working with clients to improve their ability to function on a daily basis, Susie has worked in the areas of traumatic Spinal Cord Injury, the Insurance Industry and Environmental Accessibility. She possesses a certificate for completion of the Universal Design Program at Sheridan College, and has worked with Home Depot to develop the “Independent Living Pilot Project”.

 

Jesse Klimitz - Hon.B.A, M.Arch

Accessibility Expert, Quadrangle Architects Limited

Jesse brings passion for and experience in universal design and accessible environments from both his professional experience and education. His areas of expertise include accessibility standards, building compliance, research methods, architectural design and the overall accessibility needs for seniors and those with disabilities. At Quadrangle, Jesse provides consulting services and project management for clients such as Infrastructure Ontario, PanAm/Parapan Athletic venues and Toronto Community Housing Corporation.

 

Amy Pothier – I.D.D.

Accessibility and Building Code Specialist, Quadrangle Architects Limited

Amy brings an abundance of knowledge and experience working with universal design and accessibility building standards and codes. She has a strong passion for designing enjoyable spaces that all people can easily access. Amy’s experience includes accessibility audits and building code reviews for developed and proposed buildings within the residential sector in Canada, as well as for international clients.
